Intro **

The plan was to create something like this a long ago but one's life priorities don't always align with desires. I wanted to provide some lessons learned from the various areas I've ventured while getting back on the path to creating the greatest comic book collection ever (wishful thinking). My hope is I can help you all avoid some of the same mistakes I made while also enjoying the rewards of taking chances. Please note I learned to type playing WoW, so leet speak and abbreviated grammar is my norm... just a forewarning.

Background **

I started collecting comics back when I was around 10/11 years of age. My parents both worked during the summer and my sister and I were bound to the house and not allowed to leave while they were at work. I knew a slightly older kid who lived down the street from me, who of course had greater freedoms and could walk to the comic book store. I use to give him my allowance and he would pick out comic books for me, totally at his discretion. He would drop them off when he came back by and I still have those books in crispy (mintish) condition. I would read those books over and over, as well as recreate the images at larger scale on paper. That was my lack luster intro to comic book collecting.

I never had friends that were into comics and my collection grew over the years when buying random books of my favorite characters. FYI I'll do a whole post on my favorite characters and how they have changed over the years. After joining the military I lived close to a third-eye comics and that's when I really stepped up collecting. To my later dismay, my collecting habits were still more about reading what I liked over truly 'collecting'. I reflect and fret a bit about some of the books I failed to pick up when they were on the rack. Move further forward in time, children and family take priority but I still picked up misc books when I could.

Which brings me into the modern area of my collecting. I took a job that allowed me to work remote which landed me in a neighborhood closer to family as well as an awesome guy down the road who was a huge comic enthusiast. Going and seeing his collection one day got me all fired up and motivated to create that ultimate collection. Well that and him hooking me up with full reads like the injustice 2 series. So now I had the drive and a bit more money to actually invest into this hobby. I owe my successes to said gentleman's kindness and influence, simply because he enjoyed collecting comics with others. And here I am attempting to pay it forward after being back in the game since 2023.

What I'm about **

I love collecting all manner of comics. For example I like finding super clean old comic books whether they be keys or not, the act of preserving a nice copy of an out of print book just feels right. That said I have a top three focus: Keys, Covers, Rareiants. Yes I'm calling copyright on that term as I've never seen or heard of it being used prior to my brain creating it. :) This brings me to why I made this site. The comic landscape isn't a flat field that allows you to see and navigate easily to find what you need or worse what you need to know. I'm going to dig into issues and insights that potentially* help us all find what we're hunting for.

With all that said, I hope some people will tag along with me as I give my take on various aspects of collecting. Let's hope this is a milestone moment over just another site lost to the oblivion of random websites on the internet.

P.S - I'm not looking to make this site perfect, just helpful. Cheers frens.
